June 7th 2014 Mercury Retrograde in Cancer
Mercury the planet linked to thoughts, communication and short distance travel is now in Retrograde. This means this planet appears to be going backwards in the sky which of course it isn't, it is simply stationary for several weeks. Mercury will turn direct on 1st July. What does this mean astrologically? Whenever Mercury is retrograde expect increased hiccups, disruptions and/or delays with travel plans, increased miscommunication and misunderstandings, more machinery breakdowns and technological problems and confused thinking. Also another common influence with Retrograde is past matters Returning to one's attention. So don't be surprised if you bump into or hear from someone from the past who you may not have seen for years. I should emphasise that the zodiac sign Mercury is passing through can alter what is most effected. Of course, like any influence there are positives and negatives. Mercury Retrograde can be a good time to slow down, reflect, review and rehash things that may not have worked in the past. This Mercury retrograde is in Cancer which is a water sign, so emotional thinking is likely and trips down memory lane. Looking at the past can bring about positive realisations and changes. Generally astrologers advise not to sign important documents or to make important changes during Merc Ret periods, but if you have to then just re read everything and take time to check details, so that you won't have to re visit or re do things in later weeks.
May 14th 2014 - Full Moon in Scorpio
Full Moon in Scorpio today, whose influence you may feel four days before and after. Full Moon phase is not an ideal time to take action, generally it's wiser to wait until after four days so things have settled. One may regret their actions during the Full Moon. As Scorpio is a water sign you may experience extreme emotions, heightened passion, increased moodiness, unsettled sleeping, weird or vivid dreams. As the Sun in Taurus is in challenging opposition to this Moon in Scorpio there may be a pull between Taurus's desire for simplicity and form and the challenges with Scorpio's complexity and intensity. I should mention that Venus is square Pluto for the next few days in square to Pluto, so love can be extreme, infatuations, love at first sight may be felt and impulses can run high as Uranus can desire freedom or excitement. People can act more crazily during the full moon but this is no excuse and after the storm, in calmer times one will then have to face the consequences or reality which may look different in another light. The Full Moon is also conjunct Saturn which can be challenging for secure relationships and have a sobering effect for some people. On the plus side the Full Moon in Scorpio can bring transformation, healing and cleansing, wounds may be healed. Of course, this is a general reading and I would need to see an individual's chart to see how this full moon could affect you and in which area(s) of life.
April 15th 2014 - Full Moon in Libra
Tomorrow the Full Moon is in Libra. It is a lunar eclipse too, so do not be surprised if revelations surface, the truth comes out or you may see things more clearly. Full Moon effects of heightened emotions, exaggerated feelings and restless/disturbed sleep/strange dreams are still possible for four days after. The effects of a lunar eclipse can be up to 3-6 months though. As this full lunar eclipse is in Libra (which relates to justice, balance and 7th house relationship matters) "fairness" issues may arise. If you have any important decisions to make it may be wise to put these on hold until the New Moon, Solar Eclipse in Taurus on 29th April. Whatever the case, eclipses often herald transition and change but this need not be feared. Just try to keep calm and balance during any upheavals, new doors can open! April is not an easy month especially with the grand cross but it certainly won't be boring. And May will be much gentler generally.
Full Moon 16th March 2014
The Moon is waxing towards a Full Moon this Sunday 16th March, so people may begin to feel the effects i.e. increased restlessness, heightened sensitivity, insomnia or disturbed sleeps, strange or vivid dreams. Be aware obsessive feelings and excess worry are possible as this Full Moon will be in Virgo, an earth sign which is an analytical, pro active, perfectionist sign. And Jupiter and Pluto will be conjunct (within 10 degrees of) the Moon so it can intensify Virgo's tendency to over think things. On the plus side, positive endeavours like tidying up, spring cleaning, hunting for great bargains and general organising can be successfully achieved. Jupiter is a planet linked to excess and positivity and Pluto is a planet linked to intensity and transformation. On Sunday there is a positive angle between the Full Moon and Saturn so this helps constructive action. The Full Moon's influence may be felt 4 days after Sunday too. By Wednesday things should have calmed down, there will be a lovely grand water trine between Mercury, Neptune and Jupiter. A good day for clearing the air, with honest chats and increased empathy.
Mars Retrograde - March till May 2014
1st March until 19th May - Mars is Retrograde. Mars is the planet of action, passion and vitality. Be aware that new things and connections with people that begin during Mars retrograde may fizzle out. Try not to be impulsive during this time. Mars retrograde is a time to 'put the breaks on'. It is better not to initiate new things during this time but it is great for reinforcing things. Passions, frustrations and irritations may be heightened generally during this time, so being aware not to act upon angry feelings may be helpful. Mechanical breakdowns can be increased during Mars Retrograde periods.
Feb 28th 2014
Mercury turns direct today; so combined with the New Moon in Pisces it should be a much calmer time for many. The New Moon is generally a good time for new changes, whose benefits may be felt for weeks ahead. So take a few moments even to sit quietly and reflect upon what you would like to manifest for the new month ahead. There is a stellium in Pisces too (a cluster of planets; Sun, Moon, Chiron and Neptune in Pisces.) Pisces is very creative, intuitive, healing and spiritual – so a good time for new emotional depth, for creativity and magic. Sun conjunct Neptune, Pisces' ruler is a romantic and imaginative influence too! Although intuition will be increased, so too can sensitivity. There is also a lovely positive triangle between this Pisces Moon and Jupiter in Cancer. And Jupiter is square Uranus in Aries so a driving force for action.
February 14th, 2014 - Full Moon in Leo
Today’s Full Moon is in playful, fun, creative Leo. This Leo Full Moon is in positive angle to Mars (the planet of action and passion) so heightened emotions are more likely to be expressed positively. The fact this falls on Valentine’s Day is rather pleasant as this aspect is good for fun, passion and kissing and making up. As Mercury is retrograde and conjunct the Sun today, it is also a lovely time to reconnect with friends. Self-control may be needed as the Moon is square Saturn but flamboyant, happy energy is likely to be in the air. As always a Full Moon’s influence can be felt four days before and four days after, so don’t be surprised if sleep is more unsettled and dreams are more vivid or strange. A Full Moon in Leo is quite extrovert, so don’t be shy to express yourself, wear eye catching clothing, or embrace your inner child.
General Weekend Forecast: Saturday’s Moon in opposition to Neptune with Mercury Retrograde in Pisces is a rather sentimental, nostalgic influence. Thinking objectively may prove to be difficult. Sunday’s Mercury trine the Moon is positive for expressing emotions but an active mind may increase the possibility of insomnia.
