Mercury Retrograde - October 2014

Mercury is retrograde until 25th October. It went retro on 4th. This inner moving planet linked to the mind, communication & short distance travel will be in Scorpio until 10th Oct but then move into Libra. As always this influence may result in extra traffic delays, increased misunderstandings, miscommunications, strange machinery breakdowns, decisions and plans being challenged or disrupted. There is no need to suspend projects but astrologers generally say it's not ideal to begin new projects during a Merc Ret period (even if you have great ideas during this time). The reason being: you may need to re do or re view that which you started during this time. Generally it's advisable not to implement any major decisions during Mercury Retrograde as people often find they change their minds afterwards. Many people born while Mercury is Retrograde do not feel the effects. (About 18% of the population). On the positive side it is a great 4 weeks to 'think outside the box' to reorganise, review, reflect, meditate or rework things with increased awareness. Especially while Mercury is in Scorpio a deep, intuitive water sign. Although it may be difficult to relay these thoughts, the inner understanding and revelations could be profound. When Mercury Ret moves into Libra on 10th indecisiveness may increase with many people being extra slow to reach decisions, their minds alternating back as Libra is an analytical air sign which is idealistic too. So be aware that old relationships, or old jobs may be reviewed with idealistic, nostalgic rose coloured glasses. Don't be surprised if blasts from the past come more to mind or you hear from or bump into the past. This is typical Mercury Retrograde. Mon 13th appears to be especially strong for such possibilities. If circumstances force you to slow down or you feel sluggish, try to use this time positively until things start moving again; after 10th Nov you will be raring to go. A wiser time to implement the plans or ideas you realised in October. Or maybe not, you could find you are glad you didn't act upon your thoughts during this time
